With over 30 years of experience guiding writers to professional success, writer, producer, and consultant Tim Albaugh doesn’t just teach craft — he builds creative communities where ideas thrive and careers take flight. Over 25 years as an instructor in UCLA’s MFA and Professional Programs in Film and TV Writing, Tim has launched dozens of writers into Hollywood.
His former students have written for hit shows including Atlanta, Black-ish, Grey’s Anatomy, The Flight Attendant, and Star Trek: Discovery, and have sold projects to major studios and streamers. Scott Kosar penned The Machinist in Tim’s class. One workshop participant sold her script to eOne for a mid-six-figure sum. Royal Viking Entertainment — where Tim serves as Executive Producer — has optioned numerous scripts that originated in his workshops.
