Writer/Producer Tim Albaugh has over 30 years of experience guiding writers to professional success. He taught for 25 years in the UCLA MFA and Professional programs and currently consults for Walt Disney Feature Animation and Netflix Feature Animation.
His students and clients have sold projects to all the major studios and streamers and have written for shows such as BLACKISH, BIGGER, BROAD CITY, GREY’S ANATOMY, HAWAII FIVE – O, INSECURE, MR. AND MRS. SMITH, STAR TREK: DISCOVERY, THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT, and others too numerous to mention.
Tim also serves as an Executive Producer at Royal Viking Entertainment, producers of BLACK AND BLUE starring Naomi Harris and Tyrese; WORTH starring Stanley Tucci and Michael Keaton, and the upcoming THE WASP starring Naomi Harris and Natalie Dormer.
Tim takes pride in guiding writers through their pursuit of their creative goals and moving them closer to professional success. Royal Viking has optioned numerous scripts from Tim’s ten week workshop participants and has sold one script written in his workshop for over half a million dollars. When appropriate, Tim also shares workshop participants’ work with other producers, managers and production executives.
In Tim’s 10 week workshop you can write a new script or rewrite an existing draft. Features and pilots are welcome. All work takes place in a supportive and inclusive environment. Each week writers will post their work in a dedicated Dropbox for their classmates, read each other’s work, then participate in a weekly group Zoom call to critique, discuss and brainstorm. By the end of the ten sessions writers will have a completed draft of their feature or pilot and will find themselves one step closer to their creative and professional goals. In addition to weekly notes, Tim will do a final read of your full draft with written page notes and a private one hour Zoom call to discuss the notes and next steps.
Tim’s next round of 10 week online classes start Tuesday, May 7th at 11am PST or Wednesday, May 8th at 6pm PST.
The cost of the workshop is $1750. We offer payment plans for all our workshops for those who are interested. We also offer referral bonuses.
